Daily Prompt: One-Way To The End

Assumptions were made from the start

We thought we were on the same path

Foolishly we spoke about our chapter

The sway in your voice had an effect on me

Realization that this was a no mans land,

a one way path, came too late.

I was already in knee-deep in this mush

A one way street full of sinking sand

Yet, my hand reached out for yours

what I found was a ghost of a man

As my body sunk to the bottomless pit

my heart stayed with yours beating on last time. .

Poems

Poison

it’s slow like poison reaching the heart

we pretend we are okay

that it does not hurt to breathe

we become tired to the point of no return

our will to fight diminishes every passing day

we blame our selves and the world for the

crumbling walls within

blame everyone and everything except the one

It’s a slow poison that sweeps through the blood

Slowly it moves until it stops the heart

The one muscle that with holds beyond any regrets

Poems

Clear as day

The icy air touches my skin

Goose bumps spread across my skin

here I am remembering warm days

loving the way the sun warms my skin

enjoying the smell of flowers everywhere

then the warmth turned into coldness

stinging my skin with every second spent outside

No, more am I surrounded by flowers

Instead I look upon dead plants

the color has been sucked dried

The will to care is leaving me

Tears roll down my face with no end

I hurt for the ignorance

I hurt for the things you do not say

For the actions that are clear as day
