Naked Eye

To the naked eye nothing has changed

Still the same old me

Yet, everything has changed

My thoughts are over taken by so many different things

Life has taken hold

It feels like I was reborn

Into a world that I hardly recognize

The trees are the same, but they smell different as well

Learning that a snake will try to camouflage its self

Yet, at the end of the day it is still a spineless creature

This new reality of mine can be challenging

In more than the conventional way

As life becomes rougher escape is minimal

The walls threaten to close in and suffocate

The lies you start to say are strangely fulfilling

Yes, to the naked eye nothing has changed
