Unexpectedness 

The lane was clear 

The map was at hand

Everything was set

Even the sky was a nice shade of blue 

Nothing and no one could stop me

But then something did 

It crept on me like a thief in the night

It stole what was most valuable and ran like the wind 

Yet, it didn’t leave me unscared 

Some days the reminder is unbearable 

While others I’m completely aloof

But everyday I’m still here stand, breathing; a live
